- SXSWith D-Snacks, Big Cliff
As recently as a couple of weeks ago, the annual SXSW music festival and conference was looking pretty bad for Fort Worth artists. - In Defense of Zim?
The big news this week is the fate of The Moon and the evolution of the Ridglea Theater. When FortLive.com published a scathing editorial about city councilman W.B. “Zim” Zimmerman’s machinations in blocking the zoning change that would allow the Ridglea, The Moon, and the Ridglea Bar to be bar-bars, I wasted no time spreading the link on Facebook and Twitter. I even called the phone number listed on Zimmerman’s web site and left a message expressing my displeasure at his attempts to stymie what could be a huge boost to for Fort Worth’s stature in the Texas music community.

My introduction to all things German was at Edelweiss German Restaurant (3801 Southwest Blvd.) when I was a kid. My memory of the place was that of a German theme park, with an oompah band decked out in lederhosen and dirndls and a chef/owner/lord of the chicken dance who played the accordion and sang. I recall that the portions were huge, and the cabbage flowed like German lager.

The reward has grown from $1,000 to $5,000 in just a few weeks.
